1. Mirror work
Have you ever just looked at yourself in the mirror and said hello to yourself. NO?! Well now is the time to meet a cool new friend…YOURSELF! Look, it might sound silly but confidence starts with making friends with yourself and the best and simplest way to do that is to have a quick conversation with yourself in the mirror. “Hi, you’re going to have a great day today.” “Good morning beautiful, you’re going to feel confident today.” Say some nice things to yourself, or as Mel Robbins, author of “The High 5 Habit” suggests, you could even give yourself a High 5 in the mirror!
2. Move your body
When I’m lazy, my mood is down. When I’m active, I feel alive. Sometimes it’s easy to chill all day, scroll, binge a new Netflix series but when this becomes a habit my mood is affected. I love walking, dancing, stretching…and I try to remember to do something active every day. It keeps the creative juices flowing and definitely affects your confidence. Confident people take care of themselves…so get up and move, even if its just cleaning up your room or helping with something simple around the house.
3. Put down the phone
Ok, no one likes to hear this but too much scrolling is bad for everyone. The internet and social media are amazing tools for inspiration, networking, guidance, etc…BUT it can also unintentionally lead you to make unfair comparisons to people and accomplishments you see online. Pay attention to your screen time. Are you wasting valuable time you could be doing something creative or mood boosting? Set time limits on your apps. No one ever lost confidence due to LESS screen time.
